Amidst the holidays, missed the game against the Queens on New Years Day.  Well, I wasn’t busy or anything, I was watching some bowl games and forgot about the Lakers (shame on me).  Apparently it was another thriller.  Kobe hit another 3 pt buzzer beater (39 pts for the game) for a 1 pt victory, 109-108.  OMG this guy is incredible!  He is a basketball God!  That’s quite a few buzzer beaters this year already, he’s so clutch it’s amazing, I can’t believe how he does it all the time.  The Queens seem to give us some trouble, division rivals, we had to overcome a 20 point deficit, stole it in the end and I’ll take the win.

The Lakers take on the Mavericks tonight with the big ugly German, Dirk Nowitzki.  I like Dirk as a player, but I think he’s ugly.  Not sure how the Mavs are doing this year but it always bothers me whenever I see their owner, Mark Cuban.  The guy is annoying and he looks it.  Talks way too much, has way too high profile for an owner.  I wish he weren’t so visible.  He should go count his money or something.

The Game – Lakers vs. Mavericks

The Lakers beat the holy hell out of them Mavs.  It was a blowout from early on with the Lakers playing good defense and rolling up on them.  It was like a 40 point lead at times, big time blowout.  Scarily, Pau Gasol left the game after the first 7 minutes with a strained left hamstring.  It’s the right hammy that kept him out for the first part of the season, so now the big guy has two bad hammies.  He will undergo ultrasound tests on Monday and hopefully it’s nothing serious and he won’t miss any more action.

I’m in Vegas for CES, so all I can say is this:

Beat Houston.  Lost to Clippers.  The game against the Clippers sucked (at least what I saw of it.)
