The LG Expo smartphone is out, but the pico projector attachment is not.  It is the most interesting part of the new smartphone, yet they make us wait.  Perhaps it’s not yet ready to be released to the public with some kinks to be worked out, but we got a sneak peek up close and personal at CES.

Despite being in a pretty well lit room, the pico projector was surprisingly visible.  Despite a brightness of only about 10 lumens, the image was not bad and whatever was on the screen of the Expo showed up magically on the wall.

Though projecting from a short distance yielded a tiny image, the LG rep that demonstrated the phone for us said that it could project a very large image, larger than the advertised 40”.  Looks like a very nice little device, perfect as a handy dandy tool for business presentations on the go.  It also has enough battery power to play a movie that’s under 2 hours and seems like it would be completely watchable.
