That’s it, let’s just come right out and say it. IOGEAR’s AVIOR (like aviator without the “a-t”) was the best wireless HDMI solution on the show floor.

The simplicity of their design and ease of use, based on our limited time with the product, was what got our attention. There were a lot of similar products on the floor. We looked at quite a few, but quality in a few of them were pertty suspect. The picture jumped in one demo (that we won’t mention), while another demo (on the floor) wouldn’t run right until the source material was dropped to 480p (seriously? 480p?). Okay, we’re guessing about the 480p, but the picture quality was noticeable.

IOGEAR gets our praise here not just because it had one of the better wireless HDMI products that we saw, but because IOGEAR also offered other products as part of the AVIOR family. Going wireless means being able to sit comfortably and controlling everything with a few button clicks. That’s where a full size (slightly bigger than laptop size) keyboard comes in with laser (not simple led optics) trackball comes in.

Combine the wireless HDMI, wireless keyboard, HDMI switcher and just IOGEAR’s simple easy to use system, and you’re looking at a wireless home-theater solution to be pretty pleased about.

We like easy to use products and IOGEAR’s AVIOR line-up fits that bill. Smooth switching between sources and overall excellent playback quality just adds to the overall experience.

So here’s to IOGEAR, the Golden Bucket Award for best wireless HDMI at CES 2010.

Check out our initial impressions here.

(Editor’s Note: It doesn’t hurt that IOGEAR was probably one of the only exhibitors we met that was happy to pose for a team picture for us. I mean, seriously folks, how many vendors smile like that in a picture for you? We’ll get full impressions of IOGEAR AVIOR as soon as we can get a sample unit. Demand looks really high, so we hope you understand that we haven’t seen a review unit yet.)
