I’ve gotta say that I was skeptical about Apple’s iPad. Too much hype for me, but it really does look awesome. We’ll have more details on pricing shortly, but right now let’s talk about iWork.

You may have seen Office apps on smartphones and other tablets, but Apple’s brought an improved version of iWork to their iPad. That’s cool. iWork is pretty easy to use and offers a lot of features in a simple to use format. If you’re coming at it from MS Office then things might not feel right at first, but in my experience it’s been easier to use and diagnose problems with iWork than in MS Office.

That’s being said, having this application on a portable device like iPad definitely changes the landscape for me and makes iPad that much more compelling a purchase.

For me, MS Office has been an application that I use out of necessity. Everyone else in the corporate world is running it. But the work apps that I prefer to use at home is iWork. And Apple’s making iWork on iPad even slicker and easier to use than the desktop version I’m on now.

So that gets me excited. And, if you’re following our tweets and on Facebook, then you’ll know I already announced that all our Editors are getting an iPad when it releases. Tech Bucket Blog is paying for it…yes.
