For me, if I see something labelled “bone” at an area filled with iPod and Mac gear, I’m thinking bone induction headphones or something along those lines.

The company Bone Collection, though, is not in that line. Instead, they offer a wide range of cute gear ranging from themed flash drives all the way to headphone wire cord managers. Pretty interesting and they’re working hard to get it to Mac users everywhere and of course you’re welcome to buy what they have at the show.

Their claim to fame here, besides the cute characters that I almost thought about buying, is that the “cap” on the flash drives are actually incorporated into the character itself and the entire assembly is surrounded by silicone. Injection molding or other cast molding techniques is nothing new, but doing it around heat sensitive chips and having them survive the process is fairly unique.

Unique enough that Bone Collection has a patent on how the “caps” are still attached to the flash drive. Interesting, and worth checking out. I mean, c’mon guys…it is Valentine’s Day coming up. What says “be mine” better than a cute panda USB flash drive?
