I have to admit, I enjoyed Corey Haim’s schmaltzy movies as a kid. Okay, it wasn’t that I could related to Haim’s Lucas character, but more that I had a thing for Kerri Green (Maggie) from that movie.

Still, that Lucas could make friends with her related to the outcast misfit in all of us teenagers growing up. Who knew, that being a misfit would become so hip in the years to come?

Tragically, one of my links to that era died this week. I haven’t followed his career, but I liked two of his movies: “The Lost Boys” and “Lucas”.

It’s really a shame as recent reports really indicated he was trying hard to get out from the drugs and addictions that troubled him. I hope the Oscar’s don’t give Haim the Farrah Fawcet treatment next year.
