Gamer Grub’s tastey, designed for gamers by gamers.

It’s a snack that provides you with nutrition that’s specifically tuned for a gamer’s need. Rather than a carby and salty snack like we usually grab, Gamer Grub actually has pretty decent balance.

I’ll go even further. It might be healthier than your average candy loaded “trail-mix”. Depending upon the flavor (in my case PB&J and Smores being favs) you’ll find reasonable amounts of sodium, carbs, and calories. Throw in the healthy dose of protein (ranging from 3g-16g or so per package) and vitamins A, C, E, Ca, Mg, Niacin (an essential B vitamin). On top of that you’ll also find a few other proprietary blends designed to help nerve cell function and activity.

Throw that together in Gamer Grub’s “Tear N’ Tilt” bag, it’s a totally delicious (and a little healthy) snack.

It’s funky, but I can’t help thinking this stuff is a geeky, gamer sort of Fiber One. Only here, it’s greasey, salty no, delicious clean grabbing tastiness yes.

I grabbed a bag (or two) at E3 and so far, I’ve been hooked on it. Did I mention PB&J and Smores???!!!

Each flavor they offer (Pizza, BBQ, Smores, and PB&J) actually taste like what they’re supposed to. Especially the PB&J and Smores. The BBQ tastes sort of like a kicked up bag of BBQ chips, without the sometimes too salty tang at the end. Very mild, a little spicey, and tastey.

The Pizza flavor reminds me of Combo’s Pizza flavor. You’ll find little bits of crunchiness in every bag along with a surprise or two. There are nuts (almonds, cashews) along with other stuff in every bag where it’s appropriate. Choclolatey punch nuggets and PBJ morsels of goodness.

It’s something you really have to try. At around $4-$5 for a personal hand-held bag, it’s not a lot. What you get is pretty calorically dense though.

For me, this stuff has replaced my trail mix pack when I’m out hiking and climbing. I like the flavors of Gamer Grub and it’s got a lot of stuff jammed in there that keeps me going without weighing me down as far as volume goes.

Argue with me if you want, but I say it’s healthy enough for the outdoors. Sort of strange that something designed for gamers has other more physical uses.

Has it improved my mental functions or gaming abilities at all? Sadly, I think that’s up in the air. I have no clue if it’s good for that, although Gamer Grub certainly has some science on their site to promote that fact.

Bottom line, whatever the impact on your gaming, this is a solid snack. Small, nutritionally dense compared to the wide wide world of fried fatty goodness in the snack world. And if it doesn’t mess up your WASD’ing, then even better, no?
