Pretty, n’est-ce pas? Like me, she (I don’t even know her name!) was enough to get a lot of video gamer hearts fluttering. Yes, we all felt things like we never before.

Something about chest armor and swords…

There’s a semi review in here somewhere. I’m not just aimlessly typing, even though thinking about Rift sort of puts my brain into persistent brain-fart mode.

Rift, graphically speaking, is a pretty sweet looking MMORPG. We didn’t get to go hands on with it, but looking at the demo, there’s a lot of things that will make WoW fans turn their heads twice.

Rift sets itself apart quickly from WoW. Yeah, all MMO games are going to share a little bit with great-grand-daddy that started it all.

You’ll find enough here to set it apart from WoW and other fantasy adventure style MMORPG’s.

Rift is unique in the core gameplay experience. You’re set to defend your realm from invaders that come through rips (or “rifts”) in your world. As you enter the rifts, you experience a unique battle scenario each time. You can take on the rift alone and defeat all and seal it up, or more wisely with a bunch of like minded adventurers.

There are multiple types of rifts from those that just turn everything evil and nasty to those who spawn man-eating plants and other richly detailed baddies.

Graphically, the environments are stunning and entering into a rift has a unique effect all it’s own. Sort of like walking through a Stargate. It’s nicely done and something I enjoyed seeing.

Eye-candy aside, Rift also adds a ton of interactive characters. You’ll run into merchants, other warriors, and other NPC’s that will offer you quests. So, it’s not just about roaming the country side looking for a rift.

Opposing factions that battle each other outside of the rifts are included as well and there’s a ton more to like.

I’m just praying that cosplay fans don’t get over crazed with Rift and stick to WoW cosplay. I like what I see in Rift and I don’t need WoW schmoes ruining it for me.

Rift is simply worth waiting for.

Besides, it’s this:

Isn’t the choice obvious?
