I have my eye set on an iMac or at least an all-in-one Windows machine (blasphemy!!!) with similar features. Yell at me all you want, but Windows machines are a little cheaper and I could use the extra $$$ in my pocket, not Best Buy’s.

A closer look at the new iMac has me interested. I like the updated hardware, even though there are those among us (Mord) who aren’t overly impressed with “minor” updates. I like it though.

The whole HDD-SSD combo option has me a little interested. Unlike the guys, I’m not inclined to rip open my shiney new purchase and upgrade myself.

Yeah, I know, I can save a few bucks, but doing a DIY job could ruin. Hypocritical? Maybe, but to me, I buy a Mac/PC and I need it to work, not work on it out of the box. Otherwise, I’d build the thing myself.

Oh get over yourself all you “I-build-my-own-PC” guys. It’s not that difficult. I’ve done it a few times and sorry to say, I just don’t see the fun in it. Write me off a typical girl, but so what?!

Anyways…

Turns out that the new iMac isn’t so easy to work on. There’s some amount of custom hardware that goes into it, but don’t take my word for it. Check out MacRumors coverage.
