Nintendo announced price drops for DSi and DSi XL. Each unit dropped $20 bucks with DSi now coming in at $149.99 and DSi XL at $169.99.

While not earth shattering news, it’s not at all surprising that Nintendo would discount its still hot-selling units.

Clearing inventory for 3DS Nintendo? I think so.

Which means one, most important thing for those of you that haven’t jumped into Nintendo DS.

And I can’t emphasize this enough…Wait For 3DS!!!!!

Don’t be tempted into buying a lower priced, fun beyond fun dual screened handheld wonder. Hold out for the 3DS!!!!!

We each took turns looking at 3DS during E3 and we loved it. The top 3D screen sans weird goggles is awesome and very impressive. The slightly larger screen makes it a great fit between DSi’s screen and DSi XL’s hugeness.

Not to mention control upgrades (hello analog nub!!!) and flashy, sexy portable colors all mean You Should Wait!!!!

Buy a DSi or DSi XL now if you must…but your patience will be rewarded with the 3DS shipping March 2011. It’s not that long of a wait…really.

Invest the money in an interest earning account. By March, you might have enough for a 3DS for your DSi/DSi XL money.

But everything is better said with a song…
