I pulled the E3 assignment this year and of course we went to CES back in January. But why can't I pull a better show, like the National Confectionary Maker's Convention (I dunno if that's real by the way). There's even a show for vending machine snacks that just took place called NAMA OneShow. Why can't we go to those kind of events too? Singapre Airshow is sexy and everything, but who..... Maybe. It just might be anywhere from $25,000 to $75,000 bad if you're United Airlines. Apparently, Ginger McGuire was locked in the plane she was on after she fell asleep on her flight. She was locked in for 4 hours, until the cleaning crew found her. Now, I've flown United Express (on which said incident took place) flights before. It's the tiny, tiny planes that usually seat 3 across (2..... [ read more ]

Do you know Ted's Hot Dogs? Unless you're in Western NY or Phoenix (where they have a place), you probably don't. I love Ted's. It's the best hot-dog...ever. Don't worry, The Varsity, SuperDawg, and the NY dog-on-a-cart, get honorable mentions, but Ted's beats those joints hands down. I admit, I'm biased. From awesome home-made onion rings and fries to a ton of other local favorites..... [ read more ]

A family-owned restaurant, Grand Apizza Shorline, in Clinton, Connecticut was recently told that the owners' children were legally barred from working and helping out their parents. Some schmuck-head of a busy body apparently called in an "anonymous" tip that the owners were using child labor (their kids). To which (long tirade coming) I say, WTF?????!!!!..... [ read more ]

Strange isn't it? When people have to make difficult decisions or need to ask a tough question to find an equally tough answer, we turn to the strangest places. Some turn to the power of faith to find divine guidance or inspiration. There's nothing wrong with that, except that we usually make faith a last stop in our decision making train. Many argue that it should be a first stop and that..... [ read more ]

That's an In-N-Out Double Double. Doesn't look like it's animal style, but the fried onions might be in there. Dunno, but animal style is the only way to grab a Double-Double (Triple-Triple or the Quad-Quad). Not up to In-N-Out lingo? Visit more often and find out just what they mean. Folks there'll be happy to fill you in. We found out May is [ read more ]

What good are red light cameras? Proponents claim they help reduce accidents, while opponents say they actually cause an increase. I don't know which side is right, but I know these freakin' things make me freakin' paranoid when I run into 'em. Areas that use such devious devices are supposed to put up signs into the "main" entrances of towns. Highway off-ramps, major thorough-fares into..... [ read more ]

I forgot Mother's Day once...only once. I remember thinking "it's just a commercial holiday! My mom won't really care." Boy was I ever wrong. To Mom's, Mother's Day has become something of a special day of recognition. Regardless if it's been commercialized too much or not, it's a day just for mom. How you choose to celebrate your mother is entirely up to you. There's no wrong or right..... [ read more ]
