You Android fanboys out there, don't get all hyped up and excited over news that Android OS is out-pacing iPhone OS in terms of growth percentage. I have to deal with Android lovers here on a regular basis, but I still clutch my iPhone as being far superior to what they use (even though my network coverage stinks compared to their's).

We're not one to brag, but we sort of called Nexus One's demise back in May. Actually, May 20th to be precise.
Okay, so it's no secret and everyone has been pretty much expecting it after Verizon and Sprint said "no" to Nexus One support and Google quickly yanking plans for a CDMA version.
The approach back in May was to move Nexus One into brick-n-mortar type stores and stop selling it..... [ read more ] Jun 10
Nexus One has been pooped on by both Sprint and Verizon and slowly marching down to the product graveyard, but funky, crafty homebrew folks aren't done with it.

Not only have carriers (Verizon and Sprint) all backed away from it, but if you haven't heard, Google's re-tooling it's strategy. They'll soon stop selling Nexus One on-line only and move it to retail stores very soon.
Most analysts say that this was a big defeat for Google's mobile phone strategy, even..... [ read more ] May 13
Android 2.2 is coming soon. Initial reports indicate that there will be an up to 5x performance increase in 2.2 compared to current Android versions (2.1 or 2.0 if you carrier hasn't pushed 2.1 out to you yet).
Oh yeah, they'll be full Flash support too!
I'm looking forward to seeing 2.2 and I hope it gets released soon. 2.1, while it's cool and I do like the live wallpaper features, has..... [ read more ] May 12
The mark of an awesome gaming rig is typically measured by how many frames per second it can push on a given machine with all the features of a yard-stick game maxed out.
That game used to be Quake, then Quake II, Unreal Tournament, Doom III, Crysis, Supreme Commander, etc. The list is infinite as more demanding games come out everyday.
So, we're asking, is there such a yard-stick for a..... [ read more ]
