Cobra to me is still the name in fuzz-busting tech. They've always had some of the best fuzz detectors around and I've always felt really confident in using them.
People have their preferences, sure (like the venerable Passport and Escort fuzz-busters), but there's no doubting that tech has not passed any of these guys by.

Maybe it's a German thing. Or maybe I have no sense of style what-so-ever. But take a big booth. Make it all squarish, white, plastic-y-smooth on the inside and light it up like a giant light-box in all consuming white and you end up with a gigantic flourescent-walk-in lightbulb....
...Or...Audi's booth at CES.
Audi's got some exciting cars. ..... [ read more ] Aug 19
A train that follows existing traffic patterns and rides over cars? Sounds like a monorail or an "el". But really, it's a concept bus/tram design that we'll see in China in a matter of years.
Translated from Chinese, it's called the "3D Fast Bus". Really, I double checked it.
Funky name aside, it looks like an elevated subway car with it's own..... [ read more ] Jul 28
I dunno about you, but I've long been fascinated with the idea of a flying car. Every time I'm stuck in a traffic, I look up to the sky and dream away. That is until the impatient, irritated guy behind me honks his horn incessantly and I snap out.
Terrafugia (pronounced ter-ra-FOO-gee-ah, just like it's written!), have been working on little thig called the Transition for a while now and it..... [ read more ] Jul 27
I never thought I'd put down the words "ecofriendly" when it came to the gasoline chugging Ford Explorer. When you think SUV excess, you think Hummer, but the Ford Explorer kicked off the mass market SUV craziness.
The new 2011 Ford Explorer has been making the rounds both in traditional media and on-line blogs and news sites alike. The biggest thing..... [ read more ] Jul 15
The only thing holding me back from dumping my Scion for a Volt (besides that I love my little Mosquito) is that Volt's going to be just a little out of my price range when it releases in California in 2011.
Still, the car is looking better and better to my Dad who can afford it. C'mon, Dad, that '99 Camry needs a replacing, don't ya think?
The AP reports..... [ read more ] Feb 18
I had a Corolla once. Back in '98 my dad bought one and I got it as my high school car when I turned 16. I learned to drive stick on that car. Nice little engine. I wouldn't call it fun, but I could pile my friends in there and we'd have some fun in it come weekends. Going to the beach and hanging out, "Honey" since it was golden honey colored, could..... I thought Chevy Volt was a guarantee lock to replace my Scion as an eco-friendly car. Even Joanne recently got herself a Prius (which promptly got recalled) recently. Don't get me wrong, I love my little Scion. It gets some great gas mileage and can't be that bad for the environment. I don't put many miles on it daily.
