Ahh, Google...how you continue to amaze me. Search results aside, it has always been magical, at least some of the stuff you do.
I'll leave the whole Google Wave thing and Buzz and even Nexus One out of all this.
They all sort of worked a little bit, but nothing like Google Earth, Google Maps and Gmail. Each one of those products could a company make (not to mention a small fortune in..... [ read more ] Sep 09

Google's doodles change every once in a while, but recently Google's been throwing up a bunch of animated balls on the search page.
I'm sure it's an advertising gimmick of some sort, but for some strange and magical reason, I've been playing with Google's balls (and I love saying that) all day.
I don't know why. It's been strangely mesmerizing and..... [ read more ] Aug 17
Phased out, slow, clunky keyboard and all, Droid 1 users finally are getting Android 2.2 (FroYo). Updates started trickling out over the last two weeks and we finally got our's last night around 2AM.

You Android fanboys out there, don't get all hyped up and excited over news that Android OS is out-pacing iPhone OS in terms of growth percentage. I have to deal with Android lovers here on a regular basis, but I still clutch my iPhone as being far superior to what they use (even though my network coverage stinks compared to their's).
Yes, Android is gaining, but it's far from being the..... [ read more ] Jul 30
(Update: We got a fresh rumor this morning about a true replacement to Moto Droid, the Droid 2, or whatever it's called is rumored to be released by early August or September. We're highly skeptical, but it's entirely possible, with cases popping up left and right for Droid 2)
The life-cycle for a mobile phone gets shorter with every new release. As a drool worthy phone comes to market,..... [ read more ] Jul 22
Google's on again, off again searching in China (it's on-again by the way) for the few months or so has resulted in some serious growth to Baidu.com.
If you don't know, Baidu.com is China's top search engine with more users than Google. Although Google has been making waves in China and most recently Baidu.com and Google were arguably neck-and-neck. Not..... [ read more ] Jul 20
We're not one to brag, but we sort of called Nexus One's demise back in May. Actually, May 20th to be precise.
Okay, so it's no secret and everyone has been pretty much expecting it after Verizon and Sprint said "no" to Nexus One support and Google quickly yanking plans for a CDMA version.
The approach back in May was to move Nexus One into brick-n-mortar type stores and stop selling it..... [ read more ]
