You knew it was going to happen. Forget about e-book readers for a second. As iPad grows in popularity, it's just impossible to imagine every other tech company in the world NOT coming out with a similarly designed netbook-tweener-smartphone type device.

The gavel might be just a bit early, but maybe just maybe Amazon and Apple might be guilty of doing a little price fixing. Maybe.
They're both being investigated by Connecticut's Attorney General, Richard Blumenthal, for possible unfair business practices (i.e. price fixing, collusion, whatever you want to call it).
It's not funny at all, but all I really want to say is this: It's about..... [ read more ] Jul 28
Sort of. While I'm no slicky-dicky attorney (I know, our lawyers are going to be plenty PO'd when they read that), it seems The Library Of Congress is totally okay with doing it.

Okay, scoff if you want to. We get that iPad OS is not all that different from iPhone/iPod Touch..... [ read more ] Apr 08
People visiting our site may have the wrong impression of us. We're not hating on iPad at all. For the most part, we think iPad is pretty cool. The UI is slick and as web businesses, Apple, and yes even Microsoft teach us, it's software (and UI) that drives this business to success.
Not just simple software sales, but the content that the software enables.
At the end of the day, you could..... [ read more ] Apr 08
I'm still wondering if anything is truly leaked to the media anymore. I guess I'm just getting more and more cynical, but I don't believe in leaks anymore. Not when the images are so clean, at least when they're blurry there's the sense that the shot was quickly taken and snuck out (still hard to believe), but these days it seems that the majority of.....
