There was at least one company at MacWorld showing products for iPad. Targus, showed a wide variety of cases and sleeves for iPad along with their regular line of products for laptops (bags, sleeves, cases, etc.). Nothing surprising here, but I somehow expected a little more buzz about the iPad at MacWorld than I got. That is until, a friend of mine..... [ read more ]

Looks like it might be happening according to a recent report by the Financial Times. Currently, US TV shows on Apple's iTunes Store are about $2-$3, but Apple's been pushing behind the scenes to get it down to $1 for you. Aww...isn't that nice of them? In fact, it's a good time to negotiate for Apple. DVD and traditional media sales are taking a real..... [ read more ]

Okay, in case you missed it, Apple's iPad does not support Adobe Flash. Whatever the reason, it just doesn't have it. And probably won't have it. Well, Jobs' off the cuff remark about Flash being the number one reason why Macs and hang and reboot, seems to have set off a little bit of an issue with the folks at Adobe. Why shouldn't it? Jobs' called..... [ read more ]

It took less than a week from Apple's iPad launch for a fresh batch of iPad rumors to surface. That's actually pretty slow. Usually these types of rumors surface about a day or two after launch with folks claiming insight and information on this subject. You might not recall, but way back when G5 first launched, a few hours later rumors of a liquid cooled G5 appeared. So, don't hit the..... [ read more ]

Citrix announced last week that they will be supporting iPad by allowing Windows 7 to run on it. (So yes, that's an image from Citrix of an iPad running Windows 7 that we grabbed from internetnews.com) It shouldn't be a surprise as those folks at Citrix are extremely sharp and they can do some funky stuff with their virtualization software. It's pretty cool and well deserved a closer look. ..... [ read more ]

Ha! I actually didn't see this article on Seattle P-I until after we posted our iPad thoughts after going hands on over the weekend. It's actually pretty funny. Well written article, that I'm not sure I can disagree with, but I'm sure I agree with it either. The blog post, written by Jason McC. Smith, basically explains the iPad as something too underpowered for us geeks, but just..... [ read more ]

iPad is a strange device. I've already read a few reviews from critics and pundits and it seems they all agree on a few things. First, it's pretty cool. Second, it's going to have an impact on the PC industry in general as folks follow Apple's innovation. Third, a few point out that it's not for geeks like me and it's okay if I don't get it. Here's..... [ read more ]

This article is written as an impressions piece. We've already reported on the details on pricing, size, availability, network, etc. You can find those details here. I can't tell you exactly when, and I can't tell you exactly how, but we got to go hands-on with Apple's iPad sometime over the weekend. Tech Bucket Blog was not invited to..... [ read more ]
