It used to be, not so long ago, that "jailbreaking" your iPhone was a clandestine affair. You'd get routed to a few websites that while good intentioned, always gave me the feeling of being in a not so clean place.
Some of those "instructional" sites had links to some not so grandma safe websites, if you get the picture.
Not all mind you, but a few. Reminded me of shopping for Warez for a..... [ read more ] Aug 03

I have my eye set on an iMac or at least an all-in-one Windows machine (blasphemy!!!) with similar features. Yell at me all you want, but Windows machines are a little cheaper and I could use the extra $$$ in my pocket, not Best Buy's.
A closer look at the new iMac has me interested. I like the updated hardware, even though there are those among us (Mord) who aren't overly impressed with..... [ read more ] Jul 28
Surprise! Updated iMacs have landed. The "new" features range from updated processors and speed bumps to the down-right surprising if not borderline innovative.
Processor upgrades are to be expected and I'll leave them alone for what they are. Interesting, but not drool worthy, "I gotta have it so I'm ditching my 2 year old iMac".
The thing that's really interesting for me is the option to..... [ read more ] Jul 28
Sort of. While I'm no slicky-dicky attorney (I know, our lawyers are going to be plenty PO'd when they read that), it seems The Library Of Congress is totally okay with doing it.
Sooo okay, they called it "a fair use" of the product. So it's all good.
At least if don't mind voiding your warranty and have Apple pretty much leave you on your own. Which, not surprisingly, most folks who..... [ read more ] Jul 22

For some strange reason the blogosphere lit up the past week on Apple news. I expected the iPhone grabs, but "rumors" of Apple hardware updates just took off in the last few days.
So, I dutifully, out of pure..... [ read more ] Jul 16
Rubber bumper or case? Do most iPhone 4 users and potential buyers even give a crap? Maybe Steve Jobs is right and this whole thing is blown out of proportion and folks in general don't give a hoot.
The possibility had me curious. So, we hit the streets this morning and did a quick canvassing of our local Apple Stores and ATT Wireless Stores.
We asked 4 simple questions:
- Do you..... [ read more ]

Thanks Apple. We love your products and steadily buy, but we also love the fact that you've graced us enough to allow us to write about your products.
We do it more out of love and in deference to your awesome products, we'll steadily write more. Thanks Apple! Thanks Mr. Jobs. We're eternally grateful that you didn't do anything for iPhone 4's antenna problems until today.
In case you..... [ read more ] Jul 16
Well...not really. One US Senator, Chuck Schumer has gotten vocal about Apple's recent iPhone 4 antenna/signal issues. Senator Schumer posted an open letter to Steve Jobs to fix the issue.
I love this guy. No matter what folks say about him, at least he's in the Senate working. Sure, there are 99 other Senators, but in this blogger's opinion, no other Senator works harder (or grabs the..... [ read more ]
