I love duck. And I love goose. Especially when it's carved by a masterful artist like this guy and cooked in traditional methods that haven't changed in over 200 years in place called Quan Ju De.
Whatever "Quan Ju De" means, I don't really care. You can look it up on Wikipedia or Google it. To me, it means delicious duck (that's really a borderline..... [ read more ] Nov 23

We were treated to some pretty fantastic meals while we were in China. On various evenings, we were invited by potential vendors and partners that we met with China to dinner and a night out.
Dinner ranged from simple selections all the way up to the super expensive made to order, us in our little "dining" room away from everyone else being attended by..... [ read more ] Nov 19
(This is part 2 of our 3 part series, ending on Monday of buying gear in Beijing).
So MJ took you guys into and semi-through gear shopping in what we're calling "Beijing's Electronic Districts". They have real names (forgive my poor Pin-Yin), like Hai-Luong-Da-Xia and various other names.
The ones we visited are in a part of Beijing called Haidian..... [ read more ] Nov 18
What you see above was part of the best meal we had in Beijing. Sure, we were invited by vendors, partners, adopted friends and family among others to various restaurants that were quite pricey and awesome. But, like most travelers daring (not to mention smart and lucky) enough to venture away from the norm, the best meal was a local street vendor making..... [ read more ] Sep 29
Amazon's new Kindle (Kindle 3) just kept calling me. I saw it everywhere I went, so I was bound to get one eventually. Who knew that my bosses here would so easily see that I lusted so much for a Kindle? Who knew they were such caring bosses that they would purchase me a Kindle to review?
Not I. Like I said, there are days when I get some really really nice assignments and these last two..... [ read more ] Sep 23
I'm an old dog when it comes to storage enclosures. Unlike many, I still remember when USB enclosures were $100+ (and a lot still are!).
These days, sub $50 is about what you're looking at with most coming in at sub $30 for a single drive, simple to use and install drive enclosure. When shopping for these, don't let fancy labels and features mislead you.
99% of the time, these are almost..... [ read more ] Sep 23
(Note: I accidently squished the box, but board still works!)
The folks at Wasabi Gear.com keep sending us stuff and I keep reviewing. Today comes a SATA RAID (0 and 1) card from I/O Crest. A simple SATA RAID card with two internal SATA connectors and 1 PATA/ATAPI connector.
There's a lot of fancy features here for a sub $40 board and RAID performance makes it a solid bargain.
I did the..... [ read more ] Sep 22
I'm starting to really like those guys at Wasabi Gear. Make friends and get a bunch of gear from them. Along with the host of USB 3.0 gear, we also got a nice 2.5 inch external drive enclosure that's almost fashionable.
This is an USB 3.0 enclosure that supports 2.5" SATA drives that is bus powered. The look is definitely iPod with a shiney-reflective finish on the metal backing and a..... [ read more ]
