There's a logical excuse why Nintendo doesn't release certain back catalog titles for Wii VC. We've heard everything from lack of public interest in or my favorite: too much effort for too little cash. I can totally understand those points and they're valid. But, even the casual Wii VC gamer and slightest bit retro-gaming fan has to agree that there are just some titles that belong on Wii..... [ read more ]

Calling Wii VC "ignored" is nothing more than a severe understatement. Red-headed step children get more attention than Wii's once touted feature. Heck, even your neighborhood whipping boy is more noticed. It's gotten to a point where besides the back catalog, at some point, you'd think Nintendo would stop mentioning the service. Oh wait...they pretty much have. This week, we finally see..... [ read more ]

I think it's an inevitability. Unless something goes completely wrong, I think Sara's going to have to deal with her fear of clowns yet again as Aero The Acrobat had a sequel. And I liked it wayyy more than the first one. There's a lot to like and control issues from the last game are mostly gone and Aero controls as fluid as an Acrobat..... [ read more ]

I think it's been almost a month since we've gotten anything on Wii VC. Finally, there's something today and unfortunately, it really wasn't worth the wait. Wii's VC has gotten no love lately. Instead, Nintendo's releases are more focused on WiiWare and DSiWare games. We're lucky to get one title, so I guess I should be happy. It's just too bad that..... [ read more ]

800 Wii Points will buy you this week's one and only addition (after a few weeks of drought) to the Wii VC library. It's decent enough and we're calling it fun enough to buy. Take Nintendo's classic NES Wild Gunman, throw in a healthy mix of arcade classic Cabal and you pretty much have Wild Guns. Both components are solid games and would be totally cool if they showed up on Wii VC. Doesn't..... [ read more ]

Elevator Action has a little place in my heart. No matter how many times I play it, it's just fun. I don't really get why, but it is. The NES version is an exact arcade translation. What you see is exactly (with maybe some slight color differences here and there) what you got in the arcades. Premise is simple. You are a super secret agent or industrial spy, does it matter? Your job: to..... [ read more ]

Basketball games from 8-bit gaming and back tend to be pretty basic. Not a lot of depth as the players basically stand still and kind of throw a brick back and forth. If you were looking for some action, it was usually one-on-one style. Even those games had poor depth to say the least. The "Larry Bird" type player couldn't move, but could sink 3-pointers and jump shots from anywhere. While..... [ read more ]

Kirby Super Star hit Wii VC yesterday. Did you get it yet? If you haven't, you need to. Now. Platform fun at one of it's best. There's a lot to enjoy here, that I had to split the reviews into two parts. Yesterday was all about the main game, the platform adventure part. Today, is all about the mini-games. There are three that I've unlocked, although one of the third is actually a part..... [ read more ]
