Almost a month of nothing on Wii VC, except for a bunch other stuff, and Nintendo rewards our patience with Kirby Super Star (SNES, Wii VC). It's well worth it if you're a fan of the pink marshmallow and a great introduction to Kirby if it's your first time.
Review aside, I'm still PO'd at Nintendo for basically doing squat.
Don't think "gifting" me with Kirby's cuteness is going to get me..... [ read more ] May 17

Maybe it's not surprising to you, maybe you don't give a darn, but I'm completely shocked and surprised that Konami's classic NES Jackal hasn't made it to Wii VC yet.
Now, I could be wrong and maybe there's a "rebirth" of Jackal coming and Konami's just holding out. Though, with Nintendo dropping a single Wii VC game every week now, I just shrug. From..... [ read more ] Apr 26
NEOGEO has been getting a lot of love lately on Wii VC. This week is no different. We get another solid title in The King of Fighters '95.
Way back when, this series made an almost yearly update. Think EA Sports games style updates, only with more fighting. Unfortunately, the update formula was pretty bland. A few new fighting mechanics with a slight..... [ read more ] Apr 12
Out of no-where Nintendo shocks us with a quality Wii VC release!!! I have to say, Zaxxon? And not just any Zaxxon, but the real arcade original. C'mon, that's freakin' awesome!
Way to go Nintendo! Out of the blue, we get a sweet game that I really enjoyed on ColecoVision and so I jumped on it for Wii VC Arcade.
How cool is that?

When SNK's Neo Geo system launched back in 1990, it was the most advanced home console available with perfect, no-loss, arcade to home ports. You couldn't call them "ports" really, as they were basically the exact same thing. There was no loss in going from cabinet to home, everything from the controllers to the gameplay itself were arcade quality.
You paid a pretty penny for the privilege..... [ read more ] Mar 29
Not a lot to be happy about as it looks like Nintendo is going one Wii VC game per week now. Long gone are the days of multiple "gifts". We'll speculate later this week that perhaps Nintendo has run out of games they can throw up there, or maybe it's the ol' quality over quantity line. Whatever it is, we don't buy it, but we'll speculate about it later.
For now, be happy with Ogre Battle 64..... [ read more ] Mar 23
We're trying to make a statement. Our post, except for a few words, was empty. You know why? Wii VC Monday was empty. Yes, there were a few games there, but only for DSiWare and WiiWare.
Good news on DSiWare is you get a few Game&Watch games and what's more retro than that? I still have my Mario's Cement Factory and it's good and working well.
But..... [ read more ]
